Twist and Shout: The Music of the Beatles
Saturday, October 16, 2010 - 6:30pm - Schaeffer Auditorium
Special Events

Originating from the wildly successful symphonic show, "Classical Mystery Tour," Twist & Shout is the definitive Beatles experience. Beginning with the early hits, colored with film clips from the 60's, Twist & Shout will immerse you in a complete experience from a band that looks and sound like the real deal, without smoke and mirrors (or pre-recorded tracks). Those who have seen Classical Mystery Tour know that there is no Beatles song these guys cannot handle. In Twist & Shout they will prove it by performing over 30 of their greatest hits starting with their first album and progressing through Sgt. Pepper and Abbey Road.
With the depth of the songbook, Twist & Shout plays many different songs and creates a more organic experience with more personal reflections on the music. While performing in London, the group received high acclaim from Sir George Henry Martin who admitted their look and sound was as close to the real thing as it could possibly be. "At times I drifted" he told Kishman and added that each song reminded him of his time with the Beatleas in the studio. Actor, singer, and recording artist, Tony Kishman (Paul) developed and stars in the Beatles tribute show Twist and Shout. Tony starred for six years in both the national and international tours of Broadway’s smash hit, Beatlemania.
The Los Angeles times says the concert is: "more than just an incredible simulation...[this] show had a high goose-bump quotient...the crowd stood and bellowed for more."
