Education

KU Presents! is proud to offer performances especially created for children, as well as Educational Outreach and Community Engagement programming. Our presentations vary from full length productions to interactive and engaging lecture/demonstrations designed to inspire and enrich the experience of the performing arts.

In addition to the programs below, tickets for most all evening events for youth (17 & under) are only $10.00.  Some restrictions apply.  Click on the calendar to see our evening events.

Children's Series

These programs are typically on Sunday afternoons at about 2:00 p.m. and last about 60-75 minutes.  They are fully stage programs with world-class artists and production companies that specialize in live performance for youth.  The Children's Series mission is to provide a welcoming and fun experience of live music, theater and dance.  We often provide additional interactive activities before or after the show that you and your children can participate in and enhance the performance.  Most of our programs are for ages 3-13.

School Shows/Education Matinees

Every year KU Presents! gives your school the opportunity to come to Schaeffer Auditorium and experience the performing arts and some of our wonderful performances and artists.  Our performances, usually about 60 minutes in length, are specially designed for younger audiences.  We also provide teacher guides with information about the artists, the art form and suggested pre and post concert classroom activities to enrich their experience.  The age/grade leves for the programs vary from elementary to high school, so check the program descriptions.  Home Schoolers are also invited to attend.

Pre and Post Concert Supplementary Activities

Every performance at KU Presents! is an event.  We strive to give you more for your money and enhance your experiences.  We are always working on pre-concert and post-concert activities, including lectures, demonstrations, conversations, and showcases for all of our performances that are as fun as they are interesting.  These events can happen the week of and day of the performance, so keep in touch with us on Facebook and through our e-news letters.
